Amanda Bynes' Uncle: She Needs Help!
After watching his famous niece unravel in the public eye, Amanda Bynes' uncle has come forward to speak about her troubles.
Last month, the "Amanda Show" star lost her license following litany of legal woes, including a DUI arrest in April and two hit-and-run charges in April and August. Over the weekend, Amanda's BMW was impounded after she was caught driving with a suspended license.
According to reports, Uncle Ronald Bynes stated, "She needs to stop drinking and driving. She needs help."
Apparently, the former child star's parents are in the dark about the extent of her problems. Her concerned relative continued, "'[Her father] doesn't want to talk about her and often changes the subject. The problem is there's no correspondence [between Amanda and her parents]. I don't even think they know what's going on with her. They're very upset about her recent problems, but they're in the dark."
As for his own knowledge, Ronald admits he hasn't had much contact with her in the last few years, saying, "I never knew she drank. As far as her dad knew, she never drank before. I don’t know if she did it privately."
There may be a light at the end of the tunnel, however. Reports have been made suggesting the former Nickelodeon star may have committed to an in-patient program in Southern California in order to avoid jail time.
