With much speculation as to his successor, Mindy Kaling has voiced her desire to see Rainn Wilson fill in for Steve Carell as the head of "The Office".

The Kelly Kapoor cutie, who happens to be a co-executive producer on the show, told EW, "Dwight has become so nuanced — you actually care about him now. I think if [we did a good job laying the groundwork] this coming season, he would be a fantastic boss."

Saying that Rainn would be best suited to handle the transition period, Mindy tells, "It's like the standup [expression]. The audience doesn't want someone whose hand they haven't sniffed."

But fans will have to wait to see it all unfold, as Miss Kaling isn't even sure as to what the future holds.

Of her selection for Dwight, she says, "That's my dream. It certainly hasn't been approved by people that are more powerful than me and who make those kinds of decisions."
